Ruxandra Barac studied classical singing at the Bucharest Academy of Music and then at the Luxembourg Music Conservatoire with Ionel Pantea. She has participated in master classes in Hungary, Denmark, Luxembourg and Norway.
After her studies she was employed by the Romanian Radio in Bucharest where she was given many solo parts in vocal symphonic works, in collaboration with the Academic Choir, the National Orchestra and the Radio Chamber Orchestra. She also recorded songs and opera arias, accompanied by the Radio Chamber Orchestra (2001).
At the International George Enescu Festival in 1999 she sang Lola in Cavalleria Rusticana by Mascagni. Her debut at the Romanian National Opera in Bucharest was in 2000 in the role of Cherubino (Le Nozze di Figaro by Mozart). She also had concerts with the Philharmonic Societies of Bucharest and other cities in Romania.
